The "Climate Pact for Schluechtern" launched in 2019 by the Association for Business and Tourism (WITO) is one of four winners of the Main-Kinzig Environmental Award 2022. Since 2020, the PACO Group, with its two companies Paul GmbH & Co. KG and Paul & Co. Herolz GmbH, has also been part of the "Climate Pact for Schluechtern" and has thus voluntarily committed itself to reducing CO2 emissions on an internal level, for example through the obligation to increase energy efficiency by introducing ISO 50001, the conversion of the lighting to LEDs and motion detectors, the offer of e-bikes for all employees, the conversion to green electricity or the selective conversion of the vehicle fleet to e-technology.
CO2 emissions that cannot be further reduced within the company are compensated as part of the "Climate Pact for Schluechtern" by planting local "forests of the future" on forest areas in the Schluechtern area. As a result, Paul & Co. Herolz GmbH was once again certified as climate-neutral in 2022. In the future, too, the PACO Group not only wants to stick to the previous measures to reduce its own CO2 footprint, but also expand them further, with the aim of gradually leading the entire PACO Group towards CO2 neutrality.
